The Lanes is a regionally dominant covered shopping centre, forming a substantial part of the city centre of Carlisle. It opened in 1984 and was later extended in 2000 with the addition of an anchor store with over 60 retail units.

Ellandi’s strategy is to improve the current lease profile of the centre, with a key focus on repurposing the former department store, reviewing options including the potential subdivision of the unit to create a retail/leisure destination. 

Key tenants include Primark, Next, New Look, Superdrug, Poundland and River Island.
