Chatham Town Centre Regeneration

Partner

Overview

A critical strategic intervention to redevelop the heart of the Pentagon Shopping Centre. The town centre's bus station was located at the first floor of the Centre until 2013. Although the relocation of the bus station improved access to the town centre, it left a large void space on the centre's first floor, which has reduced footfall and affected retailers.

The critical aspects of the first floor's regeneration are introducing a new health facility alongside a hub for fostering local businesses. Both initiatives require public funding, which has presented a key challenge in procurement and programme.
